2016 George Town Cruising Regatta
The 36th Annual George Town Cruising Regatta got off to a roaring start with an early event, the Dinghy Poker Run, on Wednesday, 24th. Check out the video produced by Stephane & Angelica of Cruise Sailboat Attitude Team.
Friday, the 26th, produced a very successful registration process followed by the Pet Parade. Jean on Winterlude organized the stage while Ollie on DeJarlo MC'd the event. Laughs were loudest for K-9 Sailor and the dog in the bikini. Names escape me. The Kids had their games at Chat n Chill under the leadership of Warren on Swish. Warren was raised here and shared some games from his childhood with George Town Regattas.
Suddenly there was a crowd swarming under the casurina trees and lots of books and boat stuff were passed around.
And then to top off our afternoon, Jeffrey and Karen Siegel gave a presentation on Medical Emergencies for Cruisers to more than 200 boaters. An excellent discussion and he may still be answering questions ...
Having filled my plate with fun and information, I was too tired to attend the Cruiser's Welcome at Red Boone Cafe. But I did hear the VHF chatter about the crowds and the Rack & Scrape Band playing. I know the new drink, the Red Boone Ripper, will be a hit.
We will keep you informed...
